Why RISE exists

Because character is formed, not found.

RISE exists to help schools make character formation deliberate: clear values, trained teachers, engaged families, student leadership, and a protective culture where every child can flourish. We believe lasting change happens when institutions, not individuals alone, carry the work.

Mission & vision

What we exist to build

Vision

A generation of children and young people grounded in character, guided by conscience, and prepared to live responsibly with others.

Mission

To support primary and secondary schools in intentionally developing respect, integrity, empathy, and service through age-appropriate lessons, teacher development, family engagement, student leadership, and measurable school culture transformation.

Our story

Why RISE exists

Across many communities, children grow up navigating pressure, inequality, digital influence, and fractured social trust. Schools invest deeply in academic excellence, yet character formation is too often left to chance: occasional assemblies, informal conversations, or unspoken expectations.

RISE Values Youth Initiative was established to close that gap. We exist so schools, families, and communities can intentionally build character with the same seriousness given to literacy and numeracy: through shared language, practised habits, trained adults, and a culture that protects every child.

Today, RISE works as an institution dedicated to that mandate: practical programmes, clear safeguarding standards, and partnerships designed for lasting school culture change, not one-off events.

The challenge

Schools teach subjects. Character still needs intentional space.

Across many communities, children grow up navigating pressure, inequality, digital influence, and fractured social trust. Academic excellence alone cannot prepare them for responsible adulthood.

Too often, values are assumed rather than taught, left to chance conversations instead of structured, age-appropriate practice. Teachers want support. Parents want partnership. Schools want culture that lasts beyond a single assembly theme.

One language across school and home.
Safe
Protection as daily culture.

Our core values

The character we grow together

Four values. One coherent school culture. Explore each value to see why it matters, how schools practise it, and how families can reinforce it at home.

Our approach

How RISE works with schools

  1. 01

    Shared language

Introduce RISE values in age-appropriate language that students, staff, and families can actually use.

  2. 02

    Equipped adults

Train teachers and focal leads to facilitate (not lecture) character conversations with skill.

  3. 03

    Lived culture

Embed routines, leadership structures, and safeguarding practices that make values visible every day.

  4. 04

    Measured growth

Reflect, refine, and strengthen practice across terms, with humility and evidence.

School partnership process

From first conversation to lasting culture

RISE walks with school leaders through a clear, respectful process designed for real classrooms, calendars, and capacity, not one-off events.

  1. 01

    Discover

School leaders explore fit, readiness, and safeguarding requirements with the RISE team.

  2. 02

    Design

Together we map an implementation plan suited to school type, calendar, and capacity.

  3. 03

    Equip

Teachers and focal leads receive training and classroom-ready resources.

  4. 04

    Implement

Lessons, routines, and student leadership structures go live with ongoing support.

  5. 05

    Strengthen

Schools review progress, celebrate growth, and refine practice for the next cycle.

Community impact

How we think about lasting change

Impact is more than attendance at a workshop. RISE looks for awareness, practised habits, safer belonging, and contribution that reaches beyond the classroom.

  1. 01

    Aware

Students, staff, and families understand the RISE values in clear, age-appropriate language.

  2. 02

    Practise

Values are rehearsed through lessons, routines, leadership roles, and everyday school life.

  3. 03

    Belong

School culture becomes safer, fairer, and more relational; children feel seen and protected.

  4. 04

    Contribute

Young people take initiative in service and peer leadership within and beyond the school.

Schools Programme

A practical pathway for schools ready to lead with character

From first conversation to sustained implementation, RISE walks with school leaders through a clear process designed for real classrooms, not one-off events.

Parents & families

Character grows strongest when home and school speak the same language

RISE equips schools to engage parents as partners, with conversation guides, workshop outlines, and shared language around respect, integrity, empathy, and service.

Child safeguarding

Safeguarding is not a policy on a shelf; it is a culture

Every RISE engagement is grounded in child protection principles. Character education without safeguarding is incomplete, so trust, boundaries, and vigilance sit at the centre of how we work with schools.

No programme activity proceeds without clear adult accountability and a protective culture around every learner.

01

Clear boundaries

Adult conduct expectations are explicit, taught, and upheld across every school partnership.

02

Reporting pathways

Concerns have clear routes for escalation so children are never left without a safe response.

03

Adult accountability

Leaders and facilitators share responsibility for protective practice, not paperwork alone.

04

Dignity of every child

Safety and belonging are non-negotiable foundations for character formation to take root.
